What a doll baby - and yes, so somber looking. How much you wanna bet she just refused to smile for the *camera*. No matter where kids are they'll do that every time. heehee.

Adoption huh. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

That's awesome that you have considered it before:) Being led of the Lord is what it's all about, right:) Sorry I missed your presentation. In all honesty, I just totally forgot that it was last week. My mother and grandma were in town visiting from MI and I was slightly side-tracked;) I am sure you did awesome though! Def looking forward to the blog review...

What a precious child. may the Lord bless you and Selina both (and I am certain He will).

I hope and pray others with be moved to sponsor children when they observe how the Lord blesses all involved.

God bless.

Well...that is always a possibility in my mind. In fact, I was starting to fill out paperwork for a Korean adoption when we found out that we were pregnant with Benjamin. I thought I wouldn't be able to have a baby so we were going down that road. As it worked out, we didn't adopt - but I still have it in the back of my mind as something I'd still like to do. Adoption costs a lot more than $35 a month, though! I guess my Compassion child is 'adoption lite'. :-)

I heard an appalling statistic recently. Charitable giving from rich to poor countries comes out to something like .04% of GNP.

The church tradition of one tenth sounds so much more appropriate. But unless governments around the world can start to think of better things to do with their billions of dollars beside create pointless wars, it's hard to see anything happening beyond the continued widening of the worldwide gap between rich and poor.
