As I've mentioned elsewhere on this site, my older son *loved* worksheets in his younger school years. To him, they were the 'fun stuff'. He would do them all day if I'd have let him. Needless to say, our worksheet supply started running a little thin in some areas pretty quickly. So I made up some simple sheets of my own for us to use. I figured I might as well share them, so here they are along with other homeschool forms and 'helps' I've come up with (the fun stuff for parents!). I'll add more as time permits, especially as my younger son seems to like them now. Click on each one to open the item in a new window. Print and then close the window to return to this page.

Geography

Geography Notebook - I'll be writing an article soon describing how we built our Geography Notebook, but in the meantime, here are a couple of files you can use for your own. These are in .pdf format, so you will need Adobe Reader to open and print them.
World sheets by continent - All continents plus world sheet included.
Blank country sheet - Draw your own country outline rather than using the continent map as in the above pages.

Flash Cards - (2-1/2" x 3") I printed these out, wrote the state name on the back of each, laminated them & then cut them apart. Any information could be included on the back for drill - capitals, date they joined the union, etc.
Sheet 1 (AK, DE, PA, NJ, GA, CT, MA, MD, SC)   Sheet 4 (FL, TX, IA, WI, CA, MN, OR, KS, WV)
Sheet 2 (NH, VA, NY, NC, RI, VT, KY, TN, OH)   Sheet 5 (NV, NE, CO, ND, SD, MT, WA, ID, WY)
Sheet 3 (LA, IN, MS, IL, AL, ME, MO, AR, MI)   Sheet 6 (UT, OK, NM, AZ, HI)

State Matching - Draw a line from the state name to the appropriate state shape.
Worksheet 1 (DE, PA, NJ, GA)   Worksheet 7 (AR, MI, FL, TX)
Worksheet 2 (CT, MA, MD, SC)   Worksheet 8 (IA, WI, CA, MN)
Worksheet 3 (NH, VA, NY, NC)   Worksheet 9 (OR, KS, WV, NV)
Worksheet 4 (RI, VT, KY, TN)   Worksheet 10 (NE, CO, ND, SD)
Worksheet 5 (OH, LA, IN, MS)   Worksheet 11 (MT, WA, ID, WY, UT)
Worksheet 6 (IL, AL, ME, MO)   Worksheet 12 (OK, NM, AZ, AK, HI)

Tourism Materials - We ordered these to go along with our weekly geography studies of the states. They usually contain a lot of interesting information, pictures and a map. We spaced our ordering out so as not to over-burden the mailman. Some of the packets are quite thick!

Timeline Notebook - I'll be writing an article soon describing how we built our Timeline Notebook, but in the meantime, here are a couple of files you can use for your own. These are in .pdf format, so you will need Adobe Reader to open and print them.
Blank timeline pages - 21 hash marks to cover any span of time you like.
Continent Legend page - If you want to color code your timeline by the location of events, you can use this legend to specify what colors are for different continents and locations.

Print sheets out. Hold sheets up to the light and line up the flashcard backs to the flashcard fronts along the gridlines - if you have Earth positioned properly, the rest of the planets will also be correct. Glue the sheets together, laminate and cut apart the cards.
