Pass the smelling salts, it’s true. I found this great household management site recently and it’s been working really well for us. I even wrote a ‘tip’ for my friend’s newsletter, Homeschooler’s Notebook. Since it’s already written up, I thought I might as well share it here on my blog, too!   I have recently [...]

Lego Lego Lego!

Oh my goodness, our life was taken over by Lego! This year, both boys were on the Lego team for First Lego League. It seemed like our younger son was already on the team last year since he was at all the meetings, but this year it was official. Once again, they advanced to state [...]

The pitter pat of little…paws?

Do rabbits have paws or feet?  I think paws. Anyway, as promised, I am happy to introduce you to the happy tenant of the rabbit hutch I built.  Meet Smudge: Isn’t he cute?!?  I should probably explain his name.  Or maybe I should just show you. See the smudge on his side/back?  He has one [...]

Butterscotch Bars – healthier version

The term ‘healthier’ being relative…these are more healthy than the original recipe. I found this version over at Heavenly Homemaker.  Apparently, she took a basic recipe and substituted some healthier ingredients. This version does have a little different taste to it, but it’s good!  I enjoy it alone, but I think some vanilla ice cream [...]

Homemade Drop Spindles!

After taking a spinning class last weekend, I realized that the spindle I had was really too small and light to use very well.  I shopped around for a new one and there are a lot of expensive spindles out there!  I did find one that I could buy shipped for $7.50.  I probably would [...]

Valentine Cupcakes

I’m calling these “Valentine Cupcakes” because that’s what I first made them for, but they can of course be made for any reason at any time. The main trick to making these cupcakes is simply a technique used with the batter. You can really use any recipe that you like.

Snickerdoodles and Smoothies

I’ve had a couple of culinary successes lately that I thought I’d share. First up are some Snickerdoodles Blondies. I got the recipe here, from Eat Me, Delicious. Strangely enough this is a vegetarian blog but I have found a lot of good recipes here.  I followed the recipe on the site exactly and they turned [...]

I could write a whole post about why I haven’t written anything here in so long. But I won’t. I doubt anybody really cares. If you really feel that you need to know, go ahead and think up some wild mom-homeschooler-employee-daughter-Facebooker-friend craziness and you will probably not be too far off. My hats, they are [...]
